10:57 PST...
Thank you Sesame Donuts for being open 24/7 when my craving for something chocolatey and a caffeinated beverage over took me.
However, I was disappointed by the minimal number of bookstores open beyond 10pm, and began to wonder how a college town in East Lansing, MI had it's coffee shops and bookstores open until midnight, but jazzy Portland is just missing such places.
although the wife did point out the strip clubs and bars were open, but aren't they always.
So thanks again sesame.

okay I got nothing..got up waay to early for no good reason. Showered, shaved, ate breakfast, fed my cats (who seem to think they need food , even though they're both pleasantly plump), and even wrapped my 2nd issue of my five part comic arc for Tao of Snarky. All before 8 45 am.
Sad, thing is I'm never this productive during the weekdays at this time because I'm on the Max headed to work.
damned work.

Awake. Bloodshot eyes. Sinus's hurt.
approx. 4 hours ago, I sampled for the hell of it the "Officially" wasted Jimi Hendrix energy drink.
It was crap, I passed out at 11:30 .
Now, I'm simply trying to lure my eyes back into exhaustive sleep..bloodshot as they already are.
Woo hoo!

Oh tech savvy dper's , I'm trying to help a friend whose finally on his own in grad school. He's looking to try and buy a flat screen TV that he can connect to his PC, but doesn't want to spend over $500.00 and have it crap out after say 3 years?
Do you have any brands you might recommend?
I live in Laptop land with my Toshiba and a 19" Stereo standard TV (sans tv or cable,it's just a movie and game machine), so I'm out of my element here.
PDx related simpy because I live here and he does not....mercifully.

Finally the crack of the bat, the sound of a baseball smacking into the catches glove, and the babble of drunken fans.
Baseball has started in Portland. Hailing from the Midwest, raised a Detroit Tigers fan and a Cubs fan out of pity, I sat down to enjoy opening day at PGE Park. I was faily impressed, nothing too over the top, but minor league ball doesn't need to be. The usually demogaphic of folks there to drink beer and hang out, die hard baseball fans, and families with kids. My wife was working the tickets, so she didn't show unil Middle of the 6th. Still I wore my Tiges jacket and hat, saw plenty of Boston Red Sox fans and a couple Dodgers fans. All in all a nice experience and easy to reach when I get out of work.
Looking forward to the next game.

Finally got a chance to sit down and do taxes, relatively painless this year around. Course, since our fingers are not in many financial pies or investments. It's rather quick.
Now as the corned beef is cooking in the crock pot , I can enjoy the afternoon. Why look the Sun has come to join me, hello sun.
Sun says nothing.

Maybe I didn't see anything since I'm in Garden Home area, but did Portland Observe Earth Hour?
i found the story on MSN.

So tonight, weary and worn. I spent time carousing the job opportunities for English majors again, wanting to put the degree to a better use that it current sees with customer service. So far , I find a large number of jobs from "Virtual" employers or Company Confidentials, which always make me back off. Now despite my current work on my comic book projects (Comics Obscura). I still find myself wanting to earn a bit more out of my ol' degree. I wonder in a town full of the artistically declined, have any found gainful work with a Bachelors of English , in fields other than journalism or teaching? I ask simply because those two fields are what individuals at Michigan State always thought I wanted to do with my English degree, but I wanted to see if PDXers have an expanded view of the degree?
This is all I have today:

We're going to shoot down one of our own spy satellites before it comes hurtling toward the earth with one of our trusty missles. I can only assume the remaining debris will either burn up on entry or do little damage.
Gosh I want popcorn and a telescope to watch the show.

Low energy today.
I'm either distracted by the sunshine outside the large glass window that taunts me within the building Or I'm distracted by not finding my flash drive with my most recent comic book scripts. Probably both. Either way, I am not very responsive today as calls come in, usually not an ideal working condition.
